Akatsi North Chiefs honour Bawumia, hail him as "next President"

Traditional rulers in Akatsi North have honoured Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for his significant contributions to Ghana's development, particularly in revolutionising public services through digitalisation.

During his campaign visit to Ave Havi in the Akatsi North Constituency on Tuesday, the chiefs expressed their admiration for Dr. Bawumia's achievements as Vice President.

In a warm reception, Torgbui Adogo Agbalekk, speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers, praised Dr. Bawumia for his dedication to public service and for driving economic growth and improved governance. "We acknowledge his dedication to public service, and his unwavering commitment to the country's progress is evident in his tireless efforts to drive economic growth, improve governance, and enhance the overall well-being of Ghanaians," Torgbui Adogo Agbalekk said, with chiefs and queenmothers flanking him.

The chiefs highlighted the transformative impact of Dr. Bawumia's leadership, particularly in digitalising public services. "Under his leadership, Ghana has witnessed significant strides in digitalisation, revolutionising public services and enhancing efficiency," they said.

In a symbolic gesture, the chiefs adorned Dr. Bawumia with customary green leaves around his neck, a traditional mark of support and prayers for his success in his presidential bid. They expressed their hope to see him inaugurated as the next President of Ghana at Independence Square.

"Your Excellency, we are grateful for your coming today and express our hope that the Supreme Being will keep protecting you and your team as we look forward to the possibility of your Presidency," Torgbui Adogo Agbalekk added.

In response, Dr. Bawumia expressed heartfelt gratitude for the honour, support, and prayers from the traditional leaders, assuring them that he would never forget their kindness.
