Bawumia promises more development for Adaklu, pledges accountability as President

Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has assured the people of Adaklu and the wider Volta Region of continued development, pledging to deliver even more as President of Ghana.

During a visit to the Adaklu Constituency on Tuesday, as part of his campaign tour of the Volta Region, Dr. Bawumia highlighted the achievements of the NPP government in the area and outlined his plans for future progress.

Speaking to community leaders, including chiefs, imams, clergy, and residents, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the significant strides the NPP has made in the past seven and a half years.

He contrasted this with the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) 16 years in power during the Fourth Republic, asserting that the NPP had delivered more tangible development to Adaklu.

"We have brought portable drinking water to Adaklu. We have built a youth resource centre, a stadium here in Adaklu. We have brought a district police command, a magistrate court with a bungalow, and we are building an Agenda 111 hospital right here in Adaklu," Dr. Bawumia said, listing several key projects initiated under the NPP.

He also took aim at the previous NDC administration, stating that they failed to address key infrastructure needs during their tenure. "The roads—when the NDC was in government for 16 years, they didn’t build the roads for you, but we are making a lot of efforts in many areas," he added.

Dr. Bawumia reaffirmed his commitment to addressing the challenges facing the Adaklu community, positioning himself as a "problem solver" who is focused on finding practical solutions. "We are here to solve problems. That is what government is supposed to do. You look for the problems of the people and you try to solve them," he said, promising to seek solutions for the issues raised by the community.

In a pointed reference to his main political rival, former President John Mahama, Dr. Bawumia argued that the NPP's approach to governance would be more accountable. "With the constitution guaranteeing me two terms in office, unlike my opponent who can do only one term, I will be more accountable to you. I will seek re-election and will work harder to earn more of your trust," he said.
