Cabinet reconstituted

The President, Mr John Dramani Mahama, has reconstituted his Cabinet. In an official communication to Parliament, the President has replaced the Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing with the Minister of Power on the list of ministers who constitute the Cabinet.

This was made known to Members of Parliament (MPs) by the Speaker, Mr Edward Doe Adjaho, yesterday.

Some members of the Minority had, in the course of last week, sought to know the status of the newly created Power Ministry and said the government needed to provide information on the issue to the House.

Following that move on the part of the Minority, Mr Adjaho sought answers from the Executive, which culminated in the release of a letter on the matter by the Office of the President to the Clerk of Parliament.

The letter was dated February 13, 2015 and signed by the Secretary to the Cabinet, Mr Roger Angsomwine, on behalf of the Executive Secretary to the President.

It named the recomposed Cabinet ministerial positions as: the ministries of Finance, Foreign Affairs, Defence, Petroleum,  the Interior, Trade and Industry, Justice and Attorney-General's Department, Roads and Highways, Food and Agriculture,   Lands and Natural Resources and Health.

The rest are the ministries of Education, Employment and Labour Relations, Transport, Power, Environment, Science, Technology  and Innovation, Gender, Children and Social Protection and Communications.
