That, he said, was because the future was in the hands of young people.

Former President Kufuor who was speaking at the final Election 2024 campaign rally of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the University of Ghana, Legon in Accra on Thursday evening observed that with Dr Mahamudu Bawumia at the helm of affairs, Ghana would move ahead at such speed that within just five to10 years, Ghana may join the middle class or the upper levels of middle class.
“We already know the upper levels but we must give ourselves such a leader. I have been listening gently to all the experts, the candidates and others, I am telling you, it's not that I am NPP born and bred, no, but sincerely to Ghana, one person that seems to bring all the attributes of such a leader, now, to give Ghana the leadership to move it, seriously, from now, is Bawumia,” he said.
He said when Dr Bawumia started talking digitalisation, not many of all the other aspirants were talking of digitalisation.
President Kufuor said digital technologies was what was being used to transform the world in very short and almost magical times.
“If you want to do modern agriculture, you need digitalisation. You want to do social interventions, whether it's education, whether it's self-care, If you want to do even infrastructure, it's digitalisation,” he indicated and said “You may not know that in some parts of the world now, even water is being used as fuel and we are doing all these wonderful things through digitalisation.”
He said everybody talked manifestly, but urged young people to listen carefully to what Dr Bawumia had been promising all along.
