EC declares NDC's Baba Sadiq Abdulai winner of Okaikwei Central 2024 parliamentary election, NPP's Patrick Boamah out

The Electoral Commission has declared the National Democratic Congress candidate for the Okwakwei Central, Baba Sadiq Abdulai as the winner of the parliamentary election.
He beat the incumbent Member of Parliament, Patrick Boamah of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Graphic Online's Joshua Bediako Koomson reports from the collation centre that Baba Sadiq Abdulai was declared victorious for gaining 15,323 votes as against that of the incumbent MP, Patrick Boamah's 14,949 votes.
The election saw a total of 30,332 valid votes cast, with 130 ballots rejected.
Meanwhile, members from the NPP side have said the declaration was made under duress because the collation centre had been locked.
