Mr Sbaabe recently went through three rounds of voting to be endorsed by the assembly.

The DCE  who is now in his second term in office, said he went through such a harrowing situation because just as any human being, he was not perfect.

To him, going through the ballot box three times was a capacity building exercise to equip him to deliver  for the improvement of the living standard of the people in the area in line with the Better Ghana  Agenda”.

Assured chiefs of co-operation

Mr Sbaabe assured the chiefs in the area, as well as the assembly members of his co-operation.

“Going through the ballot box three times though is a harrowing experience, it is a capacity building exercise for me which has also demonstrated the beauty of democracy and I assure all of you, especially the chiefs and assembly members of my co-operation,” Mr Sbaabe told the gathering.

Fulani herds & HIV/AIDS

The assembly, he also indicated, was tackling a number of challenges such as the destruction of farms by herds belonging to Fulanis, as well as HIV/AIDS management and control in the area, adding that the pandemic had now dropped from 6.6 per cent to 1.3 per cent in 2012 as against the national prevalence rate of 2.8 per cent.

Other programmes and projects the assembly is currently tackling include tourism development, road safety and street naming.

Revenue

With regard to this year’s financial position of the assembly, a total sum of GH¢335,935.25 being 72 per cent of the projected revenue of GH¢468,565 had been collected as at September in contrast to GH¢278,064.06 (62%) of the projected GH¢450,850 the same period last year.

Such an increase in revenue mobilisation, the DCE noted, would make it possible to provide additional social amenities for the people.
