Akim Oda MP supports SHS freshers

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Akim Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, has rolled out a major educational support programme for more than 600 students who recently passed the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Each beneficiary received GH¢1,000, a certificate and a package that included a chop box, exercise books and provisions, as well as other items required for fresh SHS admissions.

The MP’s initiative forms part of his vision focused on improving education, empowering youth and driving socio-economic growth across the constituency.

It was intended to encourage students to pursue their studies with renewed vigour, in addition to relieving parents of some of their financial burdens.

Community development

At a ceremony to present the awards, Mr Acquah described the awards as an investment in the future of Akim Oda's youth, stressing that education was the cornerstone of long-term communal development.

“I consciously decided to assist the youth in the Akim Oda Constituency, not for political reasons, but because education is the cornerstone of development,” he stated.

Mr Acquah urged the students to remain disciplined and dedicated to their studies, emphasising that their success would not only transform their individual lives but also uplift their communities.
