Family
He also visited the family of the late Defence Minister, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, to convey his sympathies.
“The fallen men paid the ultimate price in the service of our motherland, leaving a shocked nation in pain.
“I know most of the deceased personally and equally feel a sense of loss to see their demise under such horrid circumstances,” he noted.
Dr Bawumia asked the good Lord to grant the bereaved families, the government, and the people of Ghana “strength and healing in this time of tragedy.”
Kofi Bentil
In a Facebook post, Kofi Bentil described President Mahama and Dr Bawumia as some of the finest politicians in the whole world and that Ghana was lucky and proud to have them both vying for leadership in the last election.
“Today, JM leads Ghana, and the nation is well served by his wonderful personality and thoughtful leadership, which makes it possible for us to come together when we have to as a nation, and mourn our fallen heroes.
“I am glad to be a Ghanaian at a time like this, when in our dark times we can look up and see shining examples in our leaders.
Take it not for granted, this is rare today!!” he wrote.
“Dear Lord, thank you for giving us President John Mahama and Dr Bawumia as the leaders and examples to look up to in these times.
Thank you that even in these dark times, we have light in these leaders.
“We pray that you continue to give us such temperate, considerate, calm-mannered, yet sure-footed and capable men to lead us.
Men who bring peace, call us to be better, calm us when in turmoil, and are leaders we are happy to align with.
“And help us all through these times to rise and do better so the fallen would not have died in vain,” he stated.
