The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua has chastised the National Democratic Congress for resorting to religious discrimination in the run-up to the presidential and parliamentary elections.
He said Ghanaians do not need "cheap" politics and religious discrimination at this period but someone with competence and the capability to govern the country.

Mr Kodua who was speaking at the final rally of the party at the forecourt of the University of Ghana sports centre at Legon in Accra on Thursday evening said the NDC knew it was losing the elections hence they have now resorted to tribal and religious politics.
Mr Kodua expressed optimism that the NPP would win the December 7, 2024 election because wherever he went during his tour of the country everyone said it was possible.
“When you go to any of the sixteen regions, everyone says it is possible. We are going to win this election because with Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, we are going to have a dynamic president,” he told the excited supporters.
The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the party, Divine Agorhum, described the gathering as a reaffirmation of the collective commitment of members of the NPP to secure victory on December 7 this year.
“Today, is to send a clear message to all Ghanaians that we are ready.
We are at a crossroads, the challenges require a leader who is bold and transformative and that leader is Dr Mahamudu Bawumia” Mr Agorhum added.

He told the charged crowd that “victory would not be handed over to us on a silver platter and therefore there was no room for complacency and neither was there time to sit on the fence.”
Mr Agorhum, therefore, called on all NPP faithful across the country to rise to the occasion and seize the moment.
He said the NPP could not afford to repeat the mistakes it made 16 years ago when it lost power and called on all to mobilise everyone and ensure they came out in their numbers to vote.
He was grateful to all who have given their all for the course till now and said they must leave the grounds fully energised, convinced and fully committed.
