Dr Boako, a native of Bomaa and current Vice-Presidential Spokesperson, had garnered considerable support within the party after securing a decisive victory over the incumbent Member of Parliament during the NPP primary.
Speaking to the media when he filed his nomination in September, Dr Boako expressed confidence in his chances of winning the parliamentary seat.
"While I do not underestimate my opponent, I believe the openness I have shown and the growth we have achieved together over the past few years will make me the preferred candidate,” he said.
He also called on his supporters to maintain peace and decorum as the campaign heats up, urging them to remember that their opponents were "brothers" within the same political family.
