I will leverage private sector to create jobs - Bawumia assures Ghanaians
The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has assured that his government will leverage the private sector to create jobs.
He said the private sector held the key to wealth creation and prosperity of the country.

Dr Bawumia who was addressing supporters of the party at its final rally prior to this the Presidential and Parliamentary elections this year, said he would ensure that at least three per cent of GDP which is GH¢30 billion was seeded to the private sector to create jobs for the economy.
He said there was not one infrastructure that the former President could compare with the NPP government across all the sectors.
He, therefore questioned the basis on which former President John Mahama want to come back to power and said “You cannot say you have done better in education, not in healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure or digitalization.”
Dr Bawumia said his government would work to move the country into the fourth industrial revolution and also bring many initiatives such as moving away from the dependence on oil and gas for electricity generation to solar power to reduce the cost of electricity by 50 per cent.
He also said “we are moving to electric vehicles which is being piloted for public transportation to bring down the cost of public transport to 50 per cent for everybody”
He aldo mentioned the introduction of a flat tax regime for imports and tax amnesty next year and promised to bring in the required investment to build the rail infrastructure in the country.

These, he mentioned as, Accra-Kumasi-Paga and Kumasi-Takoradi to Ejisu and Takoradi-Awaso and Nyinahin rail lines.
The NPP flag bearer further assured of improved housing, digital skills training for a million youth and a credit scoring system which he said would aid the citizens to purchase items on credit and pay in bits.
