Political parties are not meant to stay in power forever - Mac Manu on Election 2024 provisional results
A former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Peter Mac Manu, has reacted to some of the provisional results of Election 2024, currently being collated by the Electoral Commission (EC) at the constituency and regional levels.
Mr Mac Manu is an integral part of the NPP's election directorate and normally represents the party at Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meetings as a key member of the 2024 campaign.

He had been monitoring the election figures and when he stepped out at dawn, journalists approached him for a comment on the provisional election results,
Mr Mac Manu said elections were about two things, "you either win or you lose."
"And we [NPP] have been to an election and lost before. It is for us to retreat, go back, [and ask] what went wrong, [do] post mortem and stuffs like, which is something we do always."
"We came into the elections to win, but I am saying if it doesn't happen, or if it happens, well and good. If it doesn't happen, political parties are not meant to..., this is not a communist country where parties stay in power forever."
