Let’s take voters registration seriously — Alan

Mr John Alan Kwadjo Kyerematen, a flag bearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has asked Ghanaians to not relent in their efforts to carry out their civic responsibility by being part of the revision of the voters register.

Mr Kyerematen said this during a courtesy call on him by a pro–NPP youth group at his office in Accra.

The Electoral Commission (EC) has scheduled the revision of the voters register for Monday, August 4 to Wednesday, August, 13, 2014.

According to Mr Kyerematen, “It is an important exercise that must be taken seriously by all Ghanaians to ensure that it is conducted with absolute integrity and within the confines of the law.”

He further appealed to the first-time voters to register and rally their support in votes for the NPP in the next general election to bring real change and meaningful progress into their lives.

He gave the assurance that together with other members and agents, the NPP would be monitoring closely the conduct of the exercise.

“This, I believe, is one of the major steps towards victory in 2016,” he stated.

In his view, Ghanaians are calling for a change in leadership and the reconstruction of our ailing economy and stressed that “We cannot fail them this time. The next NPP government is ready to provide unlimited prosperity and better days to the mass of our people.”

In another development, he said as the NPP prepared towards its presidential primary, all party faithful must be circumspect in their utterances and dealings with one another and forge ahead in unity.

He noted that “the NPP thrives on diversity. It has rich democratic values that encourage tolerance, free will and the respect for individual choices. We must be able to work together in harmony and peace in spite of the fact that we share differences in opinion. The unity of our party is essential in securing victory in 2016”.

Mr Kyerematen was, however, optimistic that the NPP, despite its shades of opinion, was battle-ready and poised to lead this nation.

He stressed that “we must be guided by the spirit of competitiveness and togetherness in order to present a united party for victory in 2016”.
