Let's forge ahead in unity for a brighter future – Dakoa Newman
The former Member of Parliament for Okaikoi South Constituency, Dakoa Newman, has expressed her sincere gratitude to the people of her constituency for their unwavering dedication to preserving Ghana's democracy.
Although she was not re-elected, Newman praised the people for their efforts and sacrifices in ensuring that Okaikoi South remained peaceful and united after the election.

In a post on her X account on Monday, December 9, she wrote, "I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the good people of Okaikoi South for your sacrifices and commitment to democracy."
"Although we did not achieve the outcome we hoped for, I am forever grateful for the privilege of serving as Member of Parliament over the past four years." Together, we have made significant strides, so let us forge ahead in unity for a better tomorrow."
Ms Newman, who previously served as the Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Protection in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, congratulated the newly elected Member of Parliament, Ernest Adomako and wished him success in his new role.
"I warmly congratulate Ernest Adomako on emerging victorious in this parliamentary election. I wish you the very best as you take on the mantle of leadership. Thank you," she said.
She lost the seat after polling 24,263 votes representing 42.60 per cent while her opponent, Ernest Adomako, secured 32,691 votes which accounted for 57.40 per cent.
