New Force proposes multi-level approach to Ghana's development

The New Force, a political movement led by independent presidential aspirant Nana Kwame Bediako, has outlined a multi-level strategy to address Ghana's complex development challenges.

Speaking on Happy 98.9 FM's Happy Morning Show, Lead Economic Analyst of the New Force, Hubert Baidoo emphasized that Ghana's issues require comprehensive solutions that tackle economic, social, and political factors.

"Ghana's challenges are complex and can't be solved overnight. We need to build from the ground up," Mr. Baidoo explained. He suggested that current leadership is aware of systemic problems but reluctant to address them due to concerns over losing power. "A holistic approach is needed to create sustainable solutions," he added.

Central to the New Force's proposal is the idea of granting semi-autonomous status to Ghana's 16 regions, each managed by a CEO appointed to run the region like a corporation.

"We need to operate the regions like businesses, making them profitable and self-sufficient," said Baidoo. "This will drive innovation, entrepreneurship, and regional economic growth."

He also stressed the importance of regional development beyond Accra, using cities like Kumasi, Bolgatanga, and Tamale as examples of areas that could be developed to rival global cities such as Dubai and Singapore. "Focusing on these regions will create jobs, stimulate economic growth, and reduce inequality across the country."

The New Force is committed to implementing this vision, with Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar, being the first to propose appointing CEOs for regional governance. "We need a paradigm shift in how we govern and develop our country," Baidoo concluded.

Nana Kwame Bediako is expected to name his running mate later this month as the New Force prepares to advance its bold strategy for Ghana's future.
