Counting of votes underway in NPP flagbearer election, Bawumia takes early lead

The counting of votes in the New Patriotic Party flagbearer election is underway with former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia taking an early lead.

Following Bawumia's early lead is Ken Ohene Agyapong, followed by Dr Bryan Acheampong, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum and Kwabena Agyei Agyapong at the last position.

As of 4:24pm, 211 out 333 station results were out. The percentages were showing Kwabena Agyei Agyapong down with 0.23 per cent below a rejected ballot percentage of 0.54 per cent.

Mahamudu Bawumia was leading with 56.8 per cent following by Ken Agyapong's 22.13 per cent.

Bryan Acheampong had 19. 21 per cent followed by Yaw Osei Adutwum's 1.1 per cent.

Bryan Acheampong - 23,516 - 19.21%

Mahamudu Bawumia - 69,548 - 56.8%

Yaw Osei Adutwum - 1345 - 1.1%

Kwabena Agyei Agyapong - 277 - 0.23 %

Rejected ballot - 660 - 0.54%

As of 175 out of 333 polling station results out as of 4pm, Bawumia is leading with 57,287 votes. Ken Agyapong has 21,509 followed Bryan Acheampong's 19,645 votes, Yaw Osei Adutwum's 834 votes and Kwabena Agyei Agyapong in the last position with 239 votes.
