Patricia Appiagyei promises youth development in bid for fourth term as MP
Madam Patricia Appiagyei, the three-term Member of Parliament for Asokwa and Deputy Majority Leader in Parliament, has announced her intention to seek a fourth term in office, vowing to focus on youth development and job creation in the Asokwa Municipality.

Speaking to the media after submitting her nomination forms to the Electoral Commission, the MP, affectionately known as "Sompahemaa," reaffirmed her dedication to the constituency. "I am ready to give my all in the additional term I am seeking, with a strong focus on creating more development-oriented initiatives and employment opportunities for the youth of Asokwa," she said.
Madam Appiagyei highlighted her achievements during her previous terms, which include establishing scholarship funds for students, supporting women in small-scale enterprises, supplying educational materials such as textbooks, exercise books, and laptops to schools, and facilitating the construction of essential infrastructure, including an ongoing hospital project at Old Asokwa.
"By submitting my nomination forms today, I am once again affirming my commitment to the development of Asokwa, especially in securing job avenues for the youth," she stated.
Support for government programmes
The MP also praised the social intervention programmes introduced by President Nana Akufo-Addo’s government, particularly the free senior high school education policy, which has enabled millions to access secondary education without financial burden. She further lauded initiatives like the restoration of teachers' and nurses' training allowances and the "One District, One Factory" policy, which she said have provided much-needed relief and opportunities to many Ghanaians.
"The Akufo-Addo and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia government have demonstrated their commitment to the country's development through numerous social interventions. With Dr Bawumia as President in 2025 and myself as MP for Asokwa, I am confident we will see even more development projects and job opportunities in the municipality," Madam Appiagyei said.
Appreciation and appeal
The MP expressed her gratitude to the people of Asokwa, including traditional leaders, for electing her for three consecutive terms. She urged them to support her bid for a fourth term, assuring them that it would allow her to complete several social intervention projects she had initiated.
"I thank the good people of Asokwa, including the chiefs and opinion leaders, for giving me the chance to serve as MP for three terms. I appeal to them to grant me a fourth term so I can continue and complete the social development projects I have started," she concluded.
