According to Mr Pratt, the temperament displayed by the former Deputy Minister of Energy is un-parliamentary and should not be entertained whatsoever in any democratic society.

Mr Hammond went ballistic on the floor of parliament when the Majority Leader, Mr Benjamin Kumbuor enjoined both sides of the house to do introspection on claims and perceptions of corruption in the society, suggesting that the public perceives the political elite as the most corrupt.

To back his point, he said he had seen members of both sides bearing placards “Woyome” and “Drill Ship” accusing each other of corruption.

The mention of drill ship however infuriated, Mr Hammond who described the Majority Leader’s submission as “stupid, foolish, useless and nonsensical.”

Reacting to Mr Hammond’s comments on Accra-based Radio Gold, Mr Pratt said the attitude of Mr K.T. Hammond was unacceptable, demeaning of the house, and needed to be referred to the Privileges Committee of Parliament for appropriate sanctions to be meted out to him.

He bemoaned the attitude of Parliamentarians who, as custodians of the law have been found breaking it.

Mr Pratt further warned citizens to be careful of the kind of people they elect as leaders since their unacceptable behaviours were likely to throw the nation into chaos.

“The next thing we will see is that they will be throwing blows at each other and if leaders are throwing blows, what do we expect their followers to do? If these are the kind of leaders we have then God save us,” he said.

Pratt said were KT Hammond a member of parliament elsewhere, he would have been dismembered immediately for those unpalatable comments and expressed surprise that the house would treat his bad conduct leniently, even after he offered a conditional apology.
