Presidency releases official portrait of President John Dramani Mahama

The Office of the President has announced the release of the official portrait of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, a visual representation of his leadership and dedication to the people of Ghana.  

In a statement issued on Thursday, January 9, 2025, Mr. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Acting Spokesperson to the President, described the portrait as a symbol of national pride and unity, reflecting the values and aspirations of the Ghanaian people.  

“The portrait captures the essence of President Mahama's leadership and commitment to the people of Ghana. It will serve as a symbol of national pride and unity, reflecting the values and aspirations of our great nation,” the statement said.  

The Presidency also issued a caution regarding the production of framed versions of the official portrait. Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs), private businesses, companies, and the general public were advised that the government has not and will not contract any company or individual to produce framed pictures of the portrait in bulk for distribution.  

The public is encouraged to exercise caution to avoid falling victim to unauthorised entities seeking to exploit the release of the official portrait for personal gain.  

This marks another step in the rollout of President Mahama's administration following his inauguration on January 7, 2025. 

The official portrait is expected to adorn offices, institutions, and public spaces across the country as a reminder of the nation’s collective aspirations under the President’s leadership.  

The President has also announced his first set of ministerial nominations.

The nominees are:  

1. Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson – Minister for Finance Designate  
2. Mr John Abdulai Jinapor – Minister for Energy Designate  
3. Dr Dominic Akuritinga Ayine – Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Designate
