‘President has no choice but accept ruling’ - Akomea

Speaking to Citi News, the Director of Communications for the NPP, Nana Akomea, said the President would have no other option than comply with the Supreme Court ruling.

"It is good that all the actors in the suit are pledging to abide by the Supreme Court ruling. Both Nana Akufo-Addo and John Mahama have made that call and I think it is good," he stated.

Nana Akomea further stated, “I, however, believe that it should not matter because when the Supreme Court rules on the matter, it does not lie in the hands of anybody be it President Mahama or Nana Akufo-Addo to say they have a choice. We don’t have a choice in the matter.”

He said when the Supreme Court rules, that becomes the law and everybody must abide by it “so even though they are saying they will abide, they really have no choice.”
