Charles Forson of NPP declared winner of Tema Central after adding two polling stations
The Electoral Commission has declared Charles Forson of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the Member of Parliament-elect for the Tema Central Constituency.
Francis Twum, the Deputy EC Return Officer for Tema Central, made the declaration on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
This was after the Electoral Commission had added two outstanding polling station results to the collation.
According to Mr Twum, "Now following from the court's decision for us to release the collation from the two polling stations left in Tema Central, we have finalised the collation for all the 147 polling stations, with a special vote making 148 polling stations in Tema Central."
"The results show that Mr. Charles Forson of the NPP secured 18,870 votes, while Madam Ebi Bright of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) garnered 18,815 votes. Mr. Frederick Ani Adjei, an independent candidate, received 209 votes."
The total valid votes cast were 37,894, with 144 rejected ballots and a total of 38,038 votes cast.
Mr Twum declared, "In view of the above results and by the power vested in me, I declare Mr. Charles Forson MP-elect for Tema Central."
