Samuel Doe Ablordeppey reports that polling got off to a smooth start at the NAFTI La 1 & 2 polling stations in the La Dadekotopon Constituency, with few voters in the queue. Presiding Officer for NAFTI La 2, Jonas Neequaye Kotei, told Graphic Online’s Samuel Doe Ablordeppey that the station completed its set up at about 6:05 a.m., and voting at exactly 7:02 a.m.
He said with about 495 voters on the register, he expected voting to move on smoothly, as the centre had usually been incident free, adding: “We pray that it should be an incident free exercise today”.
One of the early voters, Bernard Odai Aidoo, who cast his vote at NAFTI LA 1, said he felt good exercising his electoral franchise again for the third time in the Fourth Republic.
He said he joined the queue at about 5 a.m. and only met the electoral officials. Mr Aidoo said he set out early in order to travel to the Western North for work.
Polling centres are generally peaceful and the processes are moving on smoothly. There is less vehicular traffic in town, except a semblance congestion in the central business district.
