Voter turnout was generally low in a number of polling stations in the Ablekuma North Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, reports Augustine Cobba-Biney.
The problem was mainly attributed to the lack of enthusiasm among voters in the Constituency.

At the Odorkor Primary 2 Centre, which had four polling stations, only 1,033 out of 1,933 registered voters had cast their vote as of 4.30 pm.
This means that 900 voters had failed to show up to vote with just 30 minutes left for proceedings to end.
The four polling stations were created to avoid long queues and ease pressure on the electoral officers.
According to the Presiding Officer of 2 A, Benoni Odoi, only 215 voters out of a total of 516 registered had cast their votes as of 4.20 pm.
He expressed worry about the low turnout and attributed it to voter apathy.
At the 1B Polling Centre, the Presiding Officer, Prince Asiamah, said out of 450 registered voters, 245 had voted as of 4.30 pm.

He said the number was not encouraging compared to the previous election.
At the 1A polling station, only 248 out of 451 had cast their votes as of 4.30 pm.
"We don't know why they are not coming. We are still waiting till 5 pm and count the votes," the Presiding Officer, George Marfo, told the Graphic Online.
At the 2B Polling Station, the Presiding Officer, Paul Akwasi Brown, however, said 325 out of 516 registered voters had cast their votes.
