We have to chase the 'elephant' back into the bush - Mahama to voters in Kumasi [VIDEO]
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama says the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has neglected the Ashanti Region despite many voters' loyalty to the NPP.
Addressing a crowd at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi on Sunday, Mr Mahama said the NPP has taken the electorate in the Ashanti Region for granted and has failed to deliver on its promises and address pressing concerns, describing their actions as "419 politics."

“The NPP has been unfair to the Ashanti Region. They’ve taken your votes for granted but failed to deliver the progress they promised. It’s time to demand better and vote for real change. The NPP cannot stay away from their ‘419’ ways. Let’s reset this country on December 7 by voting them out,” he said.
He said it was time to chase the elephant into the bush.
Mr Mahama urged the crowd to demand better and vote for real change, pointing out that the NPP's sudden interest in completing projects just days before the election is a scam.
He promised that the NDC would complete these projects and ensure meaningful development.
The former president also criticized the government for commissioning uncompleted projects in a bid to impress voters.
“One week to the election, contractors are suddenly back on the roads. But we all know this is ‘419’ politics—a scam. They’ll abandon these projects right after the elections. It is the NDC that will complete these roads and ensure meaningful development,” he said.

He called on voters to vote for change and ensure victory for the NDC, considering the present hardship and rising cost of living.
“Think about the hardships you’ve endured. Think about the businesses that have collapsed, the youth struggling to find jobs, and the rising cost of living. This election is our chance to change the narrative and restore hope for all Ghanaians,” he said.
Mr Mahama expressed his amazement at the size of the gathering, saying it was proof that the Ashanti Region is ready for something new. He promised to bring progress, fairness, and prosperity to Ghana if elected.
Walk
The gathering, a rally to climax the "Enti Asanteman aseda ni" walk, staged to drum home the need for change and a shift from the region’s voting pattern on December 7 drew thousands of people to the Kumasi Jubliee Park.
