William, Fassinou for WBC Int. title in Keta

In their quest to revive boxing in the Volta Region, Landmark Promotions, in collaboration with Aborigines Resort, will stage a WBC International Silver super bantamweight championship at the Aborigines Beach Resort at Keta on June 28, 2014.

The bout, expected to draw a large crowd of boxing faithful to the resort, will witness Felix Williams and Fatou Fassinou in what has been described as potentially one of the fiercest fights ever to be staged at the resort.

Even more exciting will be the rich experience and impressive record both boxers are bringing on board as the promoters, Landmark Promotions, plan to use the bout to rekindle the interest of boxing in the region.

While hard-hitting Williams has 16 wins, 12 of which came by way of knockout, and is yet to lose a fight, Fassinou boasts 20 wins and three losses with one draw, making the fight a must-see encounter.

Also fighting on the same bill is Malik Jabir, who is staging a comeback after years of inaction. He will slug it out with Jonathan Yattey for the super featherweight title, while Maxwell Amponsah and Paa Kwasi Ankrah battle for the National cruiserweight title. Offei Duodu and Ben Odamtey will sort things out in a lightweight championship bout.
