3-way tie in La Liga

This promises to be the tightest La Liga title race for years, with the top three of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid locked together on 57 points.

Atletico have added an extra dimension this season, stopping the league from being a straight fight between Barca and Real again, but their surprise defeat by Almeria at the weekend saw them slip to third.

There will be more twists and turns until the end of the campaign as Barcelona made it a three-way tie on 57 points at the top of the standings last Sunday night following their 4-1 win in the rain at Sevilla.

Having seen Real go top last Saturday, the Catalan side joined their bitter rivals and also Atletico Madrid thanks to a come-from-behind victory on a torrid night.

With heavy rain making passing football near-impossible, Barcelona found a way with Alexis Sanchez’s botched header, Lionel Messi’s brace and Cesc Fabregas’ late goal washing out Alberto Moreno’s opener.
