African Nations lose big on FIFA Rankings

Spain remains the World’s best ranked football nation on FIFA’s count, followed by Germany and Argentina, while at rank 23, Cote d’Ivoire is Africa’s best, followed by Algeria at 26, Cape Verde 27 and Ghana at 37.

In the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking released Thursday, the African sides took the heaviest tumble, with Cote d’Ivoire losing 6 places, Ghana 13 places, Egypt 7; Nigeria 6, and Mali and Togo going down a massive 19 places each.

For gainers on the continent, Cape Verde was the biggest gainer, rising 8 places while Algeria moved up one place, Cameroon 4 places to close at 46, and Senegal which also climbed 2 places ended at 66.
