Bright Addae knocking on Stars doors

Italy-based defender Bright Addae has set his sights on a call-up to the Black Stars squad.

Addae, 23, who currently plies his trade at Ascoli in the Serie B of Italy, has not featured internationally since his days in the national Under-20 team.

Addae told the Graphic Sports yesterday in an interview that he had proven defensive as he had done enough at club level to merit a call-up.

"I'm waiting for it because I am fit and ready,"  he told the Graphic Sports after an exhibition match at the Town Council Line Park on Monday.

"Ascoli had a tough time in the league, we battled relegation but eventually we survived and I was a key part of that with my four goals from defence”.

“Most of the current players were my colleagues at the Under-20 level and so it will not be difficult playing with them at all”, he added.

Addae made 33 appearances for Ascoli (scoring four goals) - which helped them to retain their Serie B status in the league.
