Espanyol reject bid for Wakaso

Reports in Spain say Espanyol have rejected a bid from an unnamed 'European club' for Ghana international Mubarak Wakaso.

Espanyol Director Jose Luis Morlanes told Catalunya Radio: "We have received an offer from a European club but we will not sell on these terms."

The offer in the region of €4.5 million (£3.9m) has been turned down by the Barcelona-based side.

Espanyol will open talks with any interested club who are ready to put € 8million (£6.9m) on the table.

This has alerted clubs who have been monitoring the left-winger in the Spanish La Liga and on international duty.

English Premier League side Swansea are believed to be among those leading the chase for Wakaso's signature.
