The thin scoreline notwithstanding, Kotoko exhibited a high quality of football which surprised their home fans most of whom could not believe the sudden resurgence in the team.

Frank Sarfo Gyamfi put the smiles on the faces of the earlier grim faces when he rose to nod home a corner in the 25th minute after more than 20 minutes dominance.

BlackStars goalkeeper Fatau Dauda was caught wrong footed after apperantly underrating the aerial challenge.

It took the Miners more than 20 minutes to string their fluent passes together as livewire Francis Adjei became the only threat of the homesters.

Unfortunately, his goal-bound shot which was reiforced by Eric Opoku in a melee was thwarted by goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi.

Kadri Mohammed also failed to qualised for the Miners in the 39th minutes from his well-taken free kick .

Ashgold recovered well at the start of the second half with their trademark passing game as Kotoko were kept on back foot temporary but it failed to yield the needed results for Ashgold.
