Ghana's Black Stars failed to live up to their promise of silencing the Pharaohs of Egypt as they were held to a 1-1 draw by the Egyptians in their final Group E World Cup qualifier honoured at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Indeed, the Stars could have been greatly embarrassed, forced to fight from a goal down before recovering to share the points with the Russia 2018-bound Egyptians, who had nothing to lose in this game.

The Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Pius Enam Hadzide has revealed that efforts have begun to resolve the impasse between the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) and young middle-distance runner, Martha Bissah.

According to Mr Hadzide, the Minister, Isaac Asiamah, has mandated him to intervene in the case and find a solution in a bid to preventing Bissah from carrying out the threat of switching nationalities.

Any hope of Accra Great Olympics avoiding relegation has been effectively dashed as the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee has dismissed the club’s protests against Hearts of Oak and Bechem United in respect of their Premier League matches.

Olympics petitioned GFA Disciplinary Committee over Hearts failure to fully pay a fine of GH¢10,000 to the association before their match day 25 Ghana Premier League match at the Accra Sports Stadium in contravention of Articles 39(8)(b) and 39(8)(d) of the General Regulations of the GFA.
