Cruiserweight pugilist, Braimah Kamoko, alias Bukom Banku, has vowed to make the weight to fight Bastie "The Beast" Samir on Saturday despite doubts by his opponent's camp that he will weigh above the required limit.

Banku, who has been preparing feverishly to fight Bastie in their "Make of Break" non-title fight at the Bukom Boxing Arena on Saturday, said he had been training hard to win the bout and was still confident of finishing off his opponent in round six.

Hockey: Ghana off for Africa Cup

After two weeks residential camping at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium in Accra, Ghana’s male and female national hockey teams will fly to Egypt today ahead of the Africa Hockey Cup tournament which kick starts in the Egyptian city of Ismalia on Thursday.

A total of 36 players, comprising 18 males and 18 female were selected to represent Ghana in the tournament.

Ghana’s Black Starlets remain committed to ending their two decades title draught and are confident Niger will not stop their forward march when the two sides clash on Wednesday in a Round of 16 clash at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Navi Mumbai.

It would be an all-Africa battle among familiar foes and a repeat of the semifinal clash between the two sides at the Under-17 Africa Cup in Gabon where the Ghanaians triumphed 6-5 on penalties to seal a place in the continental final.

There was unrestrained joy at the Nana Agyeman Badu Park at Dormaa-Ahenkro after Aduana Stars earned a hard-fought 2-1 home victory over Elmina Sharks to emerge winners of the 2016/2017 Premier League after going undefeated in 15 home matches this season with one game to spare.
