Starlets ready to upset Colombia

After over two decades since Ghana last won the juvinile World Cup trophy, the national Under-17 team, Black Starlets, will be hoping to bounce back onto the international stage when they open their FIFA U-17 World Cup campaign against Colombia today.

The Starlets are participating in the tournament for the first time in 10 years when they last played and finished fourth in the tournament hosted by South Korea.

Win or lose, Braimah "Bukom Banku" Kamoko and his challenger Bastie "The Beast" will be over GH₵ 100,000 each richer when the final bell tolls on October 21 in their "Make Or Break" non-title bout set for the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra.

This was revealed by the CEO of Box Office Sports Promotions, Alex Ntiamoah-Boakye at the announcement of Multichoice Ghana as the official broadcast partners of the bout on Thursday in Accra.

Queens coach names squad for France friendly

The head Coach of the Ghana Black Queens,    Mas-Ud Dramani, has named a 28-member provisional squad for camping ahead of an international friendly against France on October 23 in Paris.

The squad comprise debutants Gifty Ayew Asare and Peterson Kundok. But the experienced Samira Suleman, who plays as a forward in Iceland for Víkingur Ólafsvík, was not included in the team.
