Crunch time for Ghana’s World Cup dreams

It is what one would typically call -- in clichéd sporting parlance -- a 'do-or-die' few days for Ghana's football team as they take on Congo in two 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Between Friday and next Tuesday, Ghana's dream of a fourth straight World Cup appearance could receive a significant boost, or their road to Russia could be dead at the halfway stage.

Abbey accuses Ref. Amoah - Calls on PLB to ensure sanity

Accra Hearts of Oak skipper, Thomas Abbey, is livid about Referee Prince Amoah’s indecision which denied the Phobians an obvious penalty in their Week 26 league top liner against Aduana Stars which ended 3-3 at the Accra Stadium last Wednesday.

According to him, the beautiful game is gradually losing its value due to poor officiating. He, therefore, appealed to the organisers of the league to put the necessary measures in place, especially in the refereeing department, to avert any unfortunate incident in the future.

Aduana hold Hearts to keep top spot

Accra Hearts of Oak fought from behind to share honours with league leaders, Aduana Stars, in a six-goal thriller that ended in multiple drama at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The 3-3 draw ensured Aduana kept their position on top of the log after title chasers WAFA were held to a scoreless draw by Accra Great Olympics at Sogakope, with Hearts remaining in third position. But it was poor officiating by referee Prince Amoah that became the major talking point as he had to leave the pitch under heavy security escort to escape the fury of Hearts fans who felt undone by some decisions by the referee.
