Starlets skipper joins local Stars - As they play Togo tomorrow

Black Starlets captain, Eric Ayiah, has been invited to the Black Stars 'B' team as they intensify preparations for their upcoming CHAN qualifiers.

Ayiah, who recently led the national U-17 side to finish second at the African Championship in Gabon, is expected to join the home-based national team for their friendly against their Togolese counterparts tomorrow.

Old students of the Adisadel College (Santaclausians) last Monday defeated their counterparts from the Mfanstipim School (MOBA), 21 to 16 points to win the fourth edition of the annual Sir Sam Jonah Golf Challenge between the two institutions.

The competition, put together five years ago by Sir Sam Jonah, a Santaclausian, is to foster a healthy relationship between the two bodies through sport as well as network.

PFAG honours late Uriah Asante as it opens new office

The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has honoured the memory of the late Uriah Asante, a former Hearts of Oak player who died last year after suffering cardiac arrest.

The PFAG last Wednesday inaugurated its new office complex and had its boardroom named after the former Hearts midfielder. The new facility christened, "The Home of the Players," pays tribute to some historical teams, players and moments in Ghana football.

Fans of Turkish club Kayserispor gave their newest signee, Asamoah Gyan, a heroic welcome as they besieged the Erkilet International Airport to welcome their hero.

Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan is now the country’s all-time leading top scorer similarly, the 32-year-old remains one of the few Ghanaian players whose career journey has taken him on tour across Europe and Asia.
