Adrobaa R/C Basic School from the Ahafo Region has emerged champions of the 2025 Milo U-13 Champions League Competition after delivering an electrifying performance to defeat Franko International School from the Western North Region by two goals to nil in the final.
The thrilling 90-minute encounter saw Adrobaa open the scoring just three minutes into the match, energizing both teams and setting the tone for an intense contest at the Paa Joe Park at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi last Saturday.
Franko International School put up a strong defensive fight but failed to convert their scoring chances, allowing Adrobaa to double their lead with a second goal in the 56th minute.
For their prize, Adrobaa received GHS50,000 in cash, along with a trophy donated by legendary football icon Abedi Pele Ayew.
The top three teams received cash prizes, medals, Nestlé products, and football equipment.
Organized by Nestlé Ghana Ltd. in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service and endorsed by the Ghana Football Association, the Milo U-13 Champions League featured young players aged 9 to 13 representing their regions to showcase their talent and teamwork.
More than 20,000 children across the country participated in the prestigious tournament, which made a return after a five-year break.
The national stage, held from December 2 to December 7, featured the top 16 schools representing the various regions.
Speaking to the media after the competition, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Manager for Nestlé Ghana, Mrs Deborah Kwabla, said the company aims to use the platform to nurture the next generation of top footballers for Ghana and beyond.
She noted that several globally recognized stars began their careers through the Milo U-13 Championship and emphasized that when scouts identify young players with professional potential, it enriches the nation’s football talent pool.
Former Black Stars captain, Mr. Stephen Appiah, commended Nestlé Ghana for their longstanding contribution to football development, highlighting players such as Fatao Ishaku and Kevin Nkrumah—both national team players—who rose through the competition.
