B’ball: Tema Sharks beat Korle Bu Kings
The inaugural Rhythm and Rims community basketball tournament tipped off last Sunday with Tema Sharks defeating Korle Bu Kings 30-24 in a cagey encounter at the Accra Polytechnic basketball court.
Interestingly, the Sharks, coached by Emmanuel Wobil, trailed the Kings 2-3 after the first quarter, but rallied on the back of a solid defence and counter- attacks to lead 15-7 at the end of the second quarter.
Coach Wobil's side then maintained their hold on their tiring opponents with a 24-13 score in the third quarter, closing-out the clash 30-24 in the final quarter.
Organisers of the 10-week competition, announced that cash-prizes totalling $6,000, and products from the sponsors, Rush energy drink and Adidas Ghana, were at stake for teams, as well as individuals who would excel during the competition.
