The President of the Badminton Association of Ghana (BAG), Nestor Ghalley, has predicted a bright future following the team’s outstanding performance at the just-ended Africa Seniors tournament in Mauritius.
The team returned from Mauritius last Thursday and, according to Mr Ghalley, despite the various degrees of injuries that the players sustained in the competitions Ghana came out much improved.
“We performed well; we suffered injuries but we moved up the standings on the continent,” he told the Daily Graphic.
According to him, the Badminton Federation of Africa (BCA) would select 16 players - eight girls and eight boys - in the coming months who would be camped and groomed for further training.
He explained that the number of players would be pruned down to eight.
