Bagerbaseh/Plange win 2016 Babolat Doubles
The partnership of Jeff Bagerbaseh and Emmanual Plange won the 2016 Babolat doubles open title with a 4-6, 6-4, 10-3 victory over Daniel Quartey and Francis Gbolonyo on Saturday at the GHACEM Tennis Club House Tema Community six.

Bagerbaseh displayed some neat touches at the net, but neither he nor his partner Plange could do enough on the return to make an impression against Quartey/Gbolonyo and lost 6-4 in the first set.
In the second set Bagerbaseh and Plange bounced back and broke Quartey/ Gbolonyo partnership in the ninth game to win the set 6-4.
In the deciding set, 2015 Babolat doubles finalist Bagerbaseh/Plange broke Quartey/Gbolonyo in the sixth game and served out for the win sparking exhuberant celebrations at the Club House.
In the mixed doubles final, a beaming Thomas Ohene and his partner Tina Tagoe claimed a 6-3 victory over Andrew Appiah and Pepertual Morgan.
In the Social One men’s doubles Adabraka based Dr Patrick Bankah and his partner Prince Ablorh defended their title after winning all the seven round robin matches. Fiifi Baidoo and Sammy Nii Okai also won the Social two men's doubles.
Mr Ismaila Lamptey, the tournament co-coordinator said he was impressed with the high level of play exhibited by both the professional and social players.
He added that the 2017 edition of the Babolat doubles is likely to be held in the Ashanti Region.
