Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren has named a 27-player provisional squad for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, assembling a blend of experienced internationals and emerging home-based talent.
The squad, announced by the Ghana Football Association, features captain Portia Boakye, Grace Asantewaa, Princess Marfo, Alice Kusi, Evelyn Badu, Stella Nyamekye, Jennifer Cudjoe, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah and Princella Adubea, all of whom are expected to play key roles in Ghana's campaign.
The provisional list also highlights the continued presence of players from the Women's Premier League, with home-based stars including Cynthia Konlan Fiindib of FC Samartex Ladies, Osman Huzeima of Jonina Ladies, and Ajegipina Zakaria of Ampem Darkoa Ladies earning places in the squad.
The Black Queens will soon resume camping as they intensify preparations for the tournament. Ghana have been drawn in Group D, where they will face Cape Verde on July 29, Cameroon on August 2, and Mali on August 6, with all three group matches scheduled to be played at the Moulay Rachid Stadium in Casablanca.
The provisional squad has been drawn from clubs across Ghana, Europe, North America, and the Middle East, reflecting the growing international footprint of Ghanaian female footballers.
