Commey dares Segbedzi for national and UBO titles
An expected war in the ring looms on November 24 when the pride of Bukom, Isaac 'Jungle King' Commey challenges Ashaiman's favourite, Sampson 'Mama's Boy' Segbedzi, for the Ghana and UBO Africa welterweight titles in Accra.
Segbedzi previously held the UBO belt but in a bid to add the national title in a blockbuster clash against Isaac Aryee, ended in chaos at the Accra Sports Stadium last December. The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) later declared it no-contest.

The 26-year-old Segbedzi cried foul and demanded to be made winner but eventually put it behind him by stopping Samuel Late Lartey in his first fight of 2024 in September to set up a re-bid for both national and continental titles.
Having won all career fights since losing on his professional boxing debut to Alidu Sulemana in August 2022, Commey's camp believes he has too many weapons in his armoury for Segbedzi to handle when they clash.
"There is no way that Segbedzi will beat Isaac Commey because of the kind of training and preparation that Commey has gone through, it's true that anything can always happen in boxing, but no way will Segbedzi beat Isaac Commey," the Manager of Commey, Evans Bernie-Johnson, said.
"We are looking forward to becoming the national champion, we can't wait. We have been waiting to fight the best, Commey is ready for the best. Our fans should come to the arena early to witness the victory and celebrations because it's going to be an early night for Segbedzi," Mr Bernie-Johnson added.
Segbedzi said an entire town was ready to embark on a pilgrimage to the Bukom Boxing Arena just to cheer him to victory.
"My fans are ready to move anytime I tell them to because they believe in me. They are coming in their numbers to support me so Isaac should get ready for a war, he called for it and he will get it," Segbedzi told Graphic Sports via phone.

"I will hit him so hard that his whole team will feel the pain. I will show him the real Mama's Boy. I came all the way from the Volta Region to Ashaiman and then to James Town to come and learn boxing, this is an opportunity to show my value. I will stop Commey before the fight reaches halfway, he will not go beyond round 6," he vowed.
