Dr Tetteh hails Black Challenge

Dr Lawrence Tetteh, founder and president of the Worldwide Miracle Outreach, has encouraged players of the Black Challenge not to see their current condition as a deficiency but a peculiar one to bring honour to the nation.

He said notwithstanding the challenges the team encountered while preparing to play in the Amputee Cup of Nations tournament, they still persevered to bring honour to the nation.

Dr Tetteh, who addressed the team at the Word of Life Church in Accra yesterday, said he was proud of the team’s achievement and promised to support them to ensure they participated  in the World Cup slated for Mexico next year.

The team was in church to thank God and express gratitude to the church for their support and, according to Rev Nii Amartey Adesah, chairman of the Amputee Football team, their participation was by divine intervention.

He said prior to the competition, motivation was at its lowest ebb among the team due to the frustration they had to go through but that did not deter them from giving  their best to achieve laurels for the nation.

Despite the absence  of  four foreign-based players, Ghana beat Nigeria to pick bronze in the competition which was hosted by Kenya.

He appealed to institutions and individuals to support the team to win more honours for the nation.

Rev Adesah noted that with their financial challenges they managed to return with something and believe that if the team was adequately supported, they would go to the World Cup to raise the flag of Ghana high. The church later donated GH ¢2000 to the team.
