In a brief interview shortly after he was announced as one of the three winners of the poll, Abbey said Ghana football must be restored to its glory days.

"We need to take steps to restore the brand to it's glory days, how we will do it is what we will decide as a team”, he said.

Surprises

Veteran football administrator Alhaji Karim Gruzah failed in his bid to win a seat on the most powerful decision making body in Ghanaian football after winning only 9 votes.

Gruzah told Graphic Online that he was not disappointed by the outcome and would give his support to those who were elected.

"Insha Allah, anyone needs my advice I would give it. We have to support them. Insha Allah, football is my passion before it became a business,” he said.

Interestingly, Mr Kweku Eyiah, one of the 'honest men' who rejected a bribe in an undercover sting by journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas was also not successful in his bid after managing only seven votes.
