Allotey, Harrison in Cabic Fight Night II roadshow
World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa super welterweight champion, Patrick Allotey, took to the street of Arena in Accra last Friday for an exhibition training session as he prepared for his title defence against DR Congo’s Sheriff Kasongo on December 24 at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
Also on the roadshow were Emmanuel Quaye, Emmanuel Danso and WBO Africa heavyweight champion, Richard Harrison, who also defends his title against Okola Morris of Kenya on the same night.
The management of Cabic Promotions says the exhibition exercise will continue at different parts of Accra to create awareness of the fight and also take the boxers closer to their fans.
Allotey, 29, after the exercise, told the Daily Graphic that it was necessary to come and showcase themselves to the general public and their fans after supporting them all along.
“I know my opponent is a tough boxer but I promise to retain the title and I am determined to do that,” he said.
In an address, Harrison asked the fans to throng the Bukom Boxing Arena to witness him defeat his opponent.
“I entreat all of you to come and witness a very nice fight at the Bukom Boxing Arena on December 24. It will be fireworks and we can assure you that none of us will lose his title. Personally, my opponent, Okola Morris, will fall at my feet.
I will discipline him,” assured the WBO Africa heavyweight champion.
The bill dubbed, “Cabic Fight Night II”, has supporting bouts, including Charles Armarteifio battling Victor Kuwornu in an eight-round super featherweight contest, Solomon Martey facing David Kotey in an eight-round featherweight clash, while Zuberu Mohammed meets Richard Ashong in a national super middleweight title contest.
