Ghana's Celia Baah-Danso elected to ITTF Athletes’ Commission 

Ghanaian table tennis star Celia Baah-Danso has been elected as a member of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Athletes’ Commission following elections held during the ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals 2026 in London.

The announcement was made by the General Secretary of the International Table Tennis Federation, Stefan Bergh, marking a significant moment for Ghanaian table tennis and athlete representation on the global stage.

Baah-Danso’s election is a major milestone not only for Ghana but also for African table tennis, as it strengthens the continent’s voice in international sports governance and athlete welfare discussions.

An experienced national-level player who has represented Ghana in international competitions, Baah-Danso entered the race with a clear vision centered on athlete representation, improved communication, fairness, and integrity within the sport.

In an interview with Baah-Danso, she emphasized her commitment to being a strong voice for players and helping bridge the communication gap between athletes and officials.

“My primary goal is to represent the voice of athletes. Furthermore, I will improve communication between athletes and officials, support and promote fairness in the table tennis ecosystem," Celia Baah-Danso said.

She also pledged to lead with integrity and actively listen to the concerns of athletes, promising to work collaboratively toward building a better future for players across the world.

Her election to the Athletes’ Commission places Ghana in an important decision-making space within global table tennis and reflects the growing influence of Ghanaian players beyond competition.

Baah-Danso’s achievement adds to Ghana’s rising profile in international table tennis administration and athlete leadership, highlighting the country’s continued contribution to the development of the sport both on and off the table.
