Under the agreement, estimated at GH¢300,000, the GCGL will  publicise stories about the tournament from now till the end.

Partnership

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr Ashigbey lauded the initiative of the bank in entering into a partnership with the GCGL and pledged the company’s unflinching support to the success of the initiative.

He appealed to the management of Unibank to consider the idea of helping to provide newspapers for schoolchildren in deprived communities.

He observed that many schools in the country did not have adequate textbooks to facilitate teaching and learning by the pupils and the students.

He explained that teachers of those schools had resorted to using the Junior Graphic, one of the newspaper brands of the GCGL, to teach their students.

Mr Ashigbey indicated that although the price of the paper was very minimal and affordable, schoolchildren in the hinterlands could still not afford it because of the low standard of living in such communities.

Dr Duffour Jnr thanked the GCGL for its support and said he hoped the initiative would deepen the relationship between the two companies.

He thanked the GCGL for its support towards its course, and called for more collaboration to help uplift the image of both companies.
