Hearts announce appointment of Kim Grant as Head Coach

Accra Hearts of Oak has announced the appointment of former Charlton Athletic and Black Stars forward Kim Tyrone Grant as its Director of Football and First Team Head Coach.

According to a statement issued by the club, Grant, 46, will be in charge of all technical aspects of the club, from the youth teams to the senior side and will assume his official duties on December 1, 2018..

"He will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Mark Noonan," the statement said.

"Grant brings an extensive resume to the position as a professional player, scout, talent developer, manager and administrator".

“I am humbled at the opportunity to lead this great football Club,” Kim Grant said.

“My sincere thanks go out to the Club’s esteemed leaders for having the faith and confidence in me to return the Club to its position at the pinnacle of African football.”

He added: “I understand the expectations at a Club like Hearts and am ready to get to work. Under my leadership, we will bring back the ‘Never Say Die’ spirit.”

“I ask all True Phobians to fully embrace and support this exciting new chapter. Together, we will rise again.”

Grant becomes Hearts’ third coach this year after Frank Nuttal and Henry Wellington but sixth manager in four years.
