Hohoe United’s Safianu Usman named among Week 12’s top NASCO Man of the Match performers

Hohoe United midfielder Safianu Usman was one of the standout recipients of the NASCO Man of the Match awards in Week 12 of the Ghana Premier League, following an inspired performance that propelled his side to a 2-1 away victory over Bechem United on Sunday.

His influence in midfield proved decisive for the league debutants as they secured one of their most significant wins of the season.

Usman, like all weekly honourees, received a NASCO ultrasonic humidifier and a steam iron as part of the sponsor’s reward scheme for exceptional individual displays.

The Week 12 award cycle began on Saturday, when Vision FC’s Nana Kusi Asante claimed the accolade despite his side’s 1-0 loss to Hearts of Oak. His standout showing earned him a NASCO television set and a personalised trophy, demonstrating that top-tier performances are recognised even in defeat.

Sunday’s fixtures produced six more Man of the Match winners in a round marked by defensive solidity and tightly contested games. Berekum Chelsea’s Augustine Agyapong was honoured after their 0-0 draw with FC Samartex, while Swedru All Blacks’ Roland Leveh earned his NASCO television set following another goalless game against Young Apostles FC. Heart of Lions defender Ishmael Addo was also recognised after a third 0-0 stalemate, this time with Karela United.

In one of the weekend’s most entertaining fixtures, Lord Amoah took home his NASCO television and trophy after starring in Asante Kotoko’s thrilling 2-2 draw with Medeama. Samuel Attah Kumi was pivotal in Bibiani Gold Stars’ narrow 1-0 victory over Aduana Stars, while Moses Author shone as Basake Holy Stars clinched a crucial 1-0 win over Nations FC.

Week 12 concluded on Monday with Emmanuel Boateng receiving the NASCO Man of the Match award, alongside a television set and trophy, after Eleven Wonders shocked Dreams FC with an impressive 2-0 away win.

The latest round of awards underscores the depth of quality across the Ghana Premier League, with players from various clubs stepping forward as match-winners. NASCO’s continued sponsorship ensures consistent recognition of talent, reinforcing the competitive spirit that defines the league.
