A total of 15 players selected from Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Ghana, are participating in the clinic which started at the Achimota Oval last Tuesday.
Beside enhancing the skills of the players in catching balls and the act of bowling, the clinic was also expected to provide them with the speed of batting balls, thereby giving them the requisite advantage over opposing teams.
Briefing the Graphic Sports , a member of the Ghana Cricket Association, Mr. Henry Benjamin Ackom said seven players were selected from Ghana and four were selected from Nigeria and Sierra Leone respectively.
He said the programme was aimed at bringing Under -17 players from the West African Sub- Region to play together to offer them the needed skills, experience and confidence to compete at the international level.
The clinic, he said was being organised at the right time, since it would also offer the players the training to compete favourably at the Under-19 international competition to be held in August this year in Zambia.
