When IShowSpeed fuels supercar frenzy at Black Star Square
American internet sensation IShowSpeed added a burst of raw horsepower to his whirlwind visit to Ghana last week, as organisers of the Supercar Spectacle rolled out a thunderous, high-octane welcome at the iconic Black Star Square.
Against the backdrop of Accra’s most recognisable landmark, monster, gas-guzzling machines took centre stage, with a dazzling parade of high-performance supercars roaring into life before a packed and buzzing crowd.
The spectacle celebrated Ghana’s fast-growing car culture and matched perfectly with IShowSpeed’s own love for velocity and adrenaline—famously demonstrated by his viral Lamborghini stunt in which he leapt over a car travelling at 45mph.
As engines snarled and tyres screeched, the fusion of speed, music and youthful energy transformed the Square into an adrenaline-soaked arena.
The rhythmic growl of powerful engines, paired with the electrified reactions of fans, created a show that blended luxury, lifestyle and unfiltered excitement — one of the standout moments of Speed’s African tour.
To deafening cheers, the streamer, — driven by Henry Appiah, CEO of Henry Automotive—arrived in a ferocious Chrysler Hellcat, showcasing eye-catching drifting skills as he toured the line-up.
The muscle car, flanked by a convoy of luxury vehicles, including a Lamborghini, delivered a jaw-dropping visual that quickly became the focal point for fans on the ground and viewers online.
The display not only amplified the thrill of the moment but also underlined the rising profile of Henry Automotive within Ghana’s luxury and performance car space, as well as the growing intersection between youth culture, entertainment and high-octane automotive branding.
The 21-year-old streamer, born Darren Watkins Jr., was in Ghana as part of his wider African tour, live-streaming his journey to more than 50 million followers across countries including Morocco, Nigeria, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire and Egypt, before touching down in Accra on Monday, January 26.
